About this training

Curious about plain language? You came to the right place!

In this 90-minute workshop, you will learn practical strategies to communicate more effectively in writing. We’ll compare and contrast real-life examples to see what clear writing looks like and you’ll get hands-on practice applying strategies to sample texts.

At the end of this training, you will be able to:

✅ Explain what plain language is and isn’t
✅ Identify what can make a text challenging to read
✅ Write with a clear and actionable purpose
✅ Anticipate and proactively address your audience’s needs
✅ Organize information in a more digestible way

This training is for anyone who wants a basic introduction to plain language. It’s great for folks who want to build confidence as a writer.

About Clear Language Fundamentals Workshops

Clear Language Fundamentals workshops give you hands-on practice with clear communication strategies. Each workshop is 90-minutes and focuses on a specific application of plain language.

We do not record these workshops. Throughout these workshops, you'll practice stratgies, engage with other participants, and receive feedback from a plain language expert. We want participants to feel confident practicing and we know a recording cannot replace learning in real-time.
