Description

About this training

Do you talk to people for your job? Most of us do! But despite doing it everyday, knowing how to break down new or complex information can feel daunting. Whether in-person, on Zoom, or over the phone, there are simple concrete things we can do to share information more clearly. In this 90-minute interactive workshop. We'll use videos, real-life examples, group discussion, and role-playing activities to explore how plain language strategies apply to spoken communication.

At the end of this training, you will be able to:

✅ Explain what plain language is and how it applies to spoken communication
✅ Prepare your audience for a successful conversation

✅ Apply strategies for organizing information into digestible chunks
✅ Check for understanding

This training is for anyone who speaks with a wide audience and wants to explain complex ideas more clearly.

About Clear Language Fundamentals Workshops

Clear Language Fundamentals workshops give you hands-on practice with clear communication strategies. Each workshop is 90-minutes and focuses on a specific application of plain language.

We do not record these workshops. Throughout these workshops, you'll practice stratgies, engage with other participants, and receive feedback from a plain language expert. We want participants to feel confident practicing and we know a recording cannot replace learning in real-time.
