Safety First: Trauma-Informed Practice for Adult Education

Trauma-Informed Teaching has become a big interest to adult educators and we, at Literacy Works, are so happy to see it popping up in conversation more often. 

​In this training, we will talk about trauma-informed teaching but we will focus the majority of the time learning about building a general trauma-informed practice regardless of our role. 

​Attendees will learn about creating safe and welcoming spaces for learners, but also tutors and staff members. We will discuss the basic of trauma-informed care and how it applies to our work in adult education. Attendees will have a chance to reflect on their own practices and brainstorm some next steps.
